Rutgers football coach Kyle Flood was suspended for three games and fined $50,000 for improper conduct with a faculty member regarding the academic status of a player, the university announced Wednesday.
According to a university investigation, Flood’s contact with the faculty member was inappropriate and in violation of school policy.
There was no immediate announcement on who would coach the Scarlet Knights in Saturday’s contest against Penn State.
Flood has also come under scrutiny due to a slew of off-field issues. Six players have been dismissed this month due to arrests and standout receiver Leonte Carroo drew his second suspension of the season on Sunday and has been charged with simple assault in a domestic violence incident.
