Pro golfer throws club into Lake Michigan after making 10 on a par-3

John Daly already was dressed like Al Czervik. On the par-3 seventh hole Friday at the PGA Championship, he started playing like Rodney Dangerfield’s “Caddyshack” character, too.

Daly, who shot a 1-over 73 in Thursday’s opening round and was even through six holes in the second round, hit three balls in the water on No. 7 en route to taking a 10.

It’s been said that a good craftsman never blames his tools, but after finally hitting his fourth tee shot on the green, Daly launched his club into Lake Michigan. A young fan in a boat then fished out the iron and held it aloft in celebration.

The colorful Daly also made a splash in the first round, when he wore blue-and-white-checkered Dodgers pants and his fiancee, who doubled as Daly’s caddie, sported patriotic red-white-and-blue socks.
