Prep football player rips off opponent’s helmet, hits him in head with it — VIDEO

Another ugly incident in a high school football game was caught on video Friday night in New Jersey, where a player from Linden High ripped the helmet off an Immaculata High player and hit him in the head with it, opening up a gash that took 10 stitches to close.

The unidentified Linden player has been kicked off the football team and the Board of Education is “pursuing the severest disciplinary measures permitted under law,” Linden superintendent Danny Robertozzi said Wednesday in a statement.

The Immaculata player didn’t retaliate after the incident. Instead, he stood up and raised his arms in the air as a flag was thrown on the Linden player, who received a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct but wasn’t ejected.

The incident took place a week after two Texas high school football players targeted and blindsided a referee during a game in Marble Falls.
