Nationals outfielder leaves big tip for Buffalo waitress

Time will tell if Jayson Werth regains his All-Star form for the Washington Nationals, but the veteran outfielder, who was activated from the 60-day disabled list Tuesday, is still on top of his tipping game.
During his recent rehab assignment with the Triple-A Syracuse Chiefs, Werth left a $100 tip on a $180.53 bill at “The Black Sheep” restaurant in Buffalo, N.Y., according to Buffalo.com. Werth’s waitress, a local actress named Jessica Wegrzyn, posted a photo on her private Instagram account of the receipt with the caption, “Thanks Jayson Werth. You have a real cool beard and you’re real nice and I’ve been told you’re a real good baseball player.”
On the subject of Werth’s beard, it has its own Twitter account (@JWerthsBeard) with almost 18,000 followers. According to Jayson Werth’s Beard, “He’s not on twitter, so you’ll have to settle for reading tweets from his beard.”
Werth made it back to Washington just in time for the team’s “Werth Chia Pet” promotion, in which the first 20,000 fans to enter the Aug. 5 game between the Nats and Arizona Diamondbacks will receive the Werth figurine, complete with chest hair.
We love Werth, but we’d rather have the $100 tip.
