Giannini, Barton earn Bullring wins

Taylor Barton and Branden Giannini won their respective divisions Saturday night at the Las Vegas Motor Speeedway Bullring. The next time they compete, they will be in the same race.

Beginning with Saturday’s NASCAR All-American Series event, Super Late Models will merge with Late Models to create a 26-car field that produces winners in each division. Bullring officials will announce more details later this week.

Barton won his second race of the Super Late Models season, and Giannini won for the second time in Late Models.

Other winners were: Jonathan Mawhinney (Legends Cars); Justin Johnson (Thunder Roadsters); and Larry Dittman (Bombers).

In the 15-lap Stars of the NHRA Thunder Roadster race, Doug Kalitta held off Gary Scelzi to win.

Stenhouse could face suspension for throwing punch at Las Vegan Kyle Busch

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. threw a right hook at Kyle Busch, and suddenly, an otherwise boring All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway had NASCAR fans buzzing heading into next weekend’s marquee Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. threw a punch at Las Vegas native Kyle Busch after the All-Star Race in North Carolina, igniting a scuffle that involved members of both crews.
