Werdum gets revenge on Nogueira

Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight contender Fabricio Werdum exacted revenge for a 2006 loss with a verbal submission victory Saturday night over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC on Fuel TV 10 in Fortaleza, Brazil.

Werdum locked in an armbar midway through the second round to secure his third straight win.

Light heavyweight Thiago Silva spoiled the UFC debut of former Strikeforce champion Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante with a first-round knockout, and Erick Silva submitted Jason High just more than a minute into a welterweight bout.

Also on the card, welterweight Leonardo Santos earned the Season 2 title on “The Ultimate Fighter Brazil” with an arm-triangle submission win over William Macario.
