Welterweights Maia, LaFlare to meet on UFC card in Rio de Janeiro

Former middleweight title challenger Demian Maia will fight Ryan LaFlare in the welterweight main event of an Ultimate Fighting Championship card Saturday in Rio de Janeiro.

LaFlare is 11-0 as a professional, including four straight wins since signing with the UFC in 2013. All four victories have come by decision.

The preliminary card airs on Fox Sports 2 (Cable 319) at 5 p.m.

In other news, the UFC announced Friday that women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will defend her belt against undefeated Brazilian Bethe Correia on Aug. 1 in Rio de Janeiro in the main event of UFC 190.
