UFC middleweight Sam Alvey says his wife, who also corners him, picked Elias Theodorou as his opponent and insists that she’s been right about everyone she’s chosen for him to battle so far.
On June 18th, Alvey will return to action at UFC Fight Night 89 when he confronts “The Spartan”. Alvey, 29, hasn’t competed since suffering a loss to Derek Brunson at UFC Fight Night 73 last August. The setback snapped a three-fight win streak for the Team Quest athlete. He was expected to fight in February, but pulled out of the bout due to a broken jaw. Meanwhile, Theodorou will look to rebound from suffering the first loss of his professional MMA career.
The contest will take place in Theodorou’s own backyard of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and Alvey hopes to walk away with a victory and some Ottawan fans.
