Sonnen selected for ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ cast

Donald Trump may no longer be a part of “The Celebrity Apprentice,” but former Ultimate Fighting Championship star Chael Sonnen will be on the show this season.

Sonnen was one of 16 contestants revealed for Season 8 of the NBC show, which went into production on Thursday.

This will be the first season hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger, who takes over after Trump was dumped by the network.

Sonnen isn’t the only former athlete on the show. Women’s boxing champion Laila Ali and NFL running backs Eric Dickerson and Ricky Williams are also part of the cast competing for $250,000 to a charity of their choice.

They will all face stiff competition from the likes of Boy George and “Snooki.”

No premiere date has been announced for the show, which will shift from New York to California for the first time.
