Rousey to defend UFC title on July 5 in Las Vegas

Ronda Rousey will defend the Ultimate Fighting Championship women’s bantamweight title against Alexis Davis in the co-main event of UFC 175 on July 5 at Mandalay Bay.

UFC president Dana White announced the fight on Twitter late Friday.

The card is scheduled to be headlined by Chris Weidman defending the middleweight title against Lyoto Machida.

There were rumors circulating that fighter-turned-actress Gina Carano would return to mixed martial arts to challenge Rousey this summer, but this announcement appears to put that speculation to rest.
