MMA Rankings: Woodley surges to top at welterweight
One big punch shook up the welterweight rankings.
It had an impact on the pound-for-pound list, as well.
Tyron Woodley jumped from the middle of the pack at welterweight all the way to the top after a crushing right hand ended Robbie Lawler’s title reign at 170 pounds.
That was by far the biggest move in the CoveringTheCage.com rankings this week.
Woodley also moved into the No. 10 spot in the pound-for-pound rankings, dropping Lawler from the list completely.
The other big move came in the women’s strawweight rankings, where Karolina Kowalkiewicz surged up to No. 3 with an impressive performance in a win over Rose Namajunas. Nikita Krylov also made a move at light heavyweight with another spectacular knockout.
