MacDonald, Lawler to fight at UFC 167

Welterweight contenders Rory MacDonald and Robbie Lawler will fight as part of the UFC 167 card in Las Vegas on Nov. 16, a source close to

the organization confirmed.

The event, which is headlined by MacDonald’s friend and training partner Georges St. Pierre defending the welterweight belt against Johny Hendricks, will take place at MGM Grand.

MacDonald, 24, has won five fights in a row since his only career loss and would most likely be next in line for a title shot if not for his insistence on not fighting St. Pierre.

The 31-year-old Lawler has had a career resurgence with two highlight-reel knockout victories since returning to the UFC after a long stint in Strikeforce.
