Lawler will face Condit on Jan. 2 in Vegas

Robbie Lawler will defend the Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight title against Carlos Condit on Jan. 2 at MGM Grand, sources close to the organization confirmed late Thursday.

The bout replaces a women’s bantamweight title bout between Holly Holm and champion Ronda Rousey, which was moved to UFC 193 on Nov. 14 in Melbourne, Australia.

Lawler had originally been scheduled to fight Condit at UFC 193, but was forced to withdraw due to a thumb injury.

Essentially, the fights switched spots.
