Edgar to replace Koch at UFC 153

Frankie Edgar has agreed to step in for an injured Erik Koch to challenge Jose Aldo for the Ultimate Fighting Championship featherweight title at UFC 153 on Oct. 13 in Rio de Janeiro.

The organization announced the switch on Twitter on Thursday.

Edgar lost the title to Benson Henderson in February, then dropped the rematch Aug. 11 in Denver. The October title bout will mark his featherweight debut.
