Minnesota Vikings mascot Ragnar holding out for $20,000 a game

Ragnar the Viking — the Minnesota Vikings’ beloved bearded, motorcycle-riding unofficial mascot — missed his first home game since 1994 on Sunday after the team balked at his demand for a huge raise.

Joe Juranitch, 54, who plays Ragnar, was making $1,500 per game before his deal expired in the offseason. He was seeking a new contract that would pay him $20,000 per game for the next 10 years, or a total of $2 million including preseason games.

The Vikings are probably going to cave, considering he’s irreplaceable. Where are they ever going to find another Norse-looking bearded biker in Minnesota?
