Rookies Durant, Green sign with SuperSonics

Kevin Durant and Jeff Green, the second and fifth overall choices in last week’s NBA Draft, signed contracts with the Seattle SuperSonics.

Durant will make $3.476 million as a rookie and $3.736 million in his second year. Green will make $2.548 million in the first year and $2.739 million in the second. The SuperSonics have one-year options for the players’ third and fourth years.

Both players are in Las Vegas for the NBA Summer League and will make their professional debuts Friday against the Dallas Mavericks.

Also: Guard Matt Carroll and the Charlotte Bobcats came to terms on a six-year, $27 million contract. He averaged a career-high 12.1 points and shot 42 percent from 3-point range last season.

The Orlando Magic pulled its qualifying offer for free agent Darko Milicic, making it unlikely the 7-footer will return to the NBA team. Milicic, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2003 draft, averaged 8.0 points and 5.0 rebounds last season.

Guard Juan Carlos Navarro, whose rights are owned by the Washington Wizards, will be allowed by his Spanish club to leave for the NBA. Navarro, 27, averaged 12.6 points and shot 40 percent on 3-point attempts in nine seasons.
