Horse Racing: Today at Hollywood Park, Nov. 9

Post Time 12:30 p.m.

Race 1 – 6 furlongs (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $30,000, Claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds and up

7 Great Friends Rule – Must overcome a tough post, but has the early speed to get position early; sliding down in class.

2 Senor Rain – The rail in grass sprints is a good place to start; hugs the rail and has tacitcal speed to move forward.

Long Shot – 3 Malibu Knight

Race 2 – 7 furlongs, $100,000 Moccasin, Fillies, 2-year-olds

5 Bajan – Sharp win in the Anoakia, with promise of more; not sure if she’ll be a 2-turn stakes horse, but proven in sprints.

3 E Equalsmcsquared – Game second to the favorite in the Anoakia; grinder has shown to be game in the deep stretch.

Long Shot – 1 Lemon de Oro

Race 3 – 6 furlongs (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $45,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

6 One Time Only – Solid speed try down the hill at Santa Anita in last; figures to show them her heels in this one.

1 The Magic Stone – The rail is good in Inglewood turf sprints; will try to stay close to the chalk and hope she falters late.

Long Shot – 3 Miss Charming

Race 4 – 7 furlongs, Purse $18,000, Claiming $16,000, 3-year-olds and up

4 King Maya – Galloped like a good thing graduating for Vladimir Cerin; anything close to that should beat winners today too.

8 Judge Carr – Claimed by Bob Hess and spotted nicely to win; will sit mid-pack and hope for a fast pace to close into.

Long Shot – 1 Orangeyouacutie

Race 5 – 7 furlongs, Purse $48,000, Allowance, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up

7 Kill Shot – Made his supporters sweat in last as a 1/5 winning chalk; facing winners for the first time, measure the gumption.

8 Pulla Train – Nice price on a gelding who has shown sneaky improvement; parked outside the chalk, will stalk and pounce.

Long Shot – 3 Topper’s Ghost

Race 6 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $45,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, 2-year-olds

6 Pray Hard – Never underestimate the maestro Jerry Hollendorfer; has speed to lead or follow close up.

6 Public Policy – Did everything but win in a dirty nose loss; goes from open claimer to Cal-bred MSW, lateral move at worst.

Long Shot – 12 Even to the Moon

Race 7 – 7 furlongs, Purse $24,000, Claiming $16,000, 3-year-olds and up

3 Anabaa Premium – Tiny edge in one difficult horse race; these are bottom claimers, but very few throw outs.

2 McKenzies Way – Tepid chalk mainly due to the pilot Rafael Bejarano; will sit in arrears and make one brush.

Long Shot – 4 Runaway Wildcat

Race 8 – 1 1/16th miles (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $52,000, Optional claiming $62,500, 3-year-olds and up

3 Te Rapa – Has strung together a series of good races for Howard Zucker and Kayla Stra; this mom can ride a bit too.

8 Olympic Blue – It’s Hollendorfer and Bejarano tandem again; tough parking lot post, but he finds a way to carve a trip.

Long Shot – 5 American Act

Race 9 – 6 furlongs, Purse $18,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, 3-year-olds and up

11 Ice Cream Truck – Another tepid chalk in an impossible looking field; key for me is his race two back would beat these.

13 Warren’s T. Baze – When top jock Rafael Bejarano stays for a cheap finale, he must know; let his agent handicap for us.

Long Shot – 2 Fly High

Best Bet – 6 One Time Only (race 3)

Hollywood Park Friday – Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 14/4/$27.60; Long Shots, 7/2/$16.80; Best Bet, 1/1/$4.20
