HORSE RACING

TODAY AT HOLLYWOOD PARK

By Richard Eng

Post Time 12:30 p.m.

Race 1 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $12,000, Claiming $10,000, Fillies, 3-year-olds

Real Lift – Speedy sort will be forwardly placed throughout; turns back in distance where she will be a closing sprinter.

Here Comes Ray Ray – Dead late closer will try to give Iggy his first win in his comeback; sliding down the claiming ladder.

Long Shot – Exploited Dream

Race 2 – 6 furlongs, Purse $12,000, Claiming $10,000, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

O Bee Naki – Exits a sharp win where a repeat effort would crush these; picks up 5-pounds, a piano would help the others.

Delphina – She’s my second choice despite some ugly looking races; she exits a key race, a strong handicapping angle.

Long Shot – Dazzling Skates

Race 3 – 1 1/4 miles (turf), Purse $54,000, Optional claiming $62,500, 3-year-olds and up

One Off – Drysdale waves the white flag as he runs him for a price tag; still, his back class and speed may be enough.

Niagara Causeway – Leparoux is taking his time getting settled; this is a Biancone horse switched over to the Powell barn.

Long Shot – Centarvo

Race 4 – 1 1/16th miles, Purse $36,000, Claiming $50,000, 3-year-olds and up

Gallardo – Has won 2-of-3 since claimed by Hollendorfer from Mitchell; has really taken well to the synthetic surfaces.

Tioga Junction – Figures to show speed on the stretch out; Talamo is one of the best in the room at relaxing his mounts.

Long Shot – Seven Secrets

Race 5 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $14,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

Fly By – Was flattered when Jen’s New Chapter won the first race on Thursday; takes a subtle turn back in distance too.

Madonna Mia – Beaten chalk got dueled into submission due to torrid early fractions; see if Gryder can slow it down a step.

Long Shot – Kilmartin Hall

Race 6 – 1 mile (turf), Purse $30,000, Claiming $32,000, 3-year-olds and up

Mananan McLir – Mitchell charge adding blinkers on for this; sliding down the claiming ladder where he faces a soft spot.

Black Jack Attack – Taking a significant class drop to face these; speedball could clear early and never look back.

Long Shot – Quasimodo

Race 7 – 6 furlongs, Purse $45,000, Optional claiming $80,000, 2-year-olds

Winsome Charm – Has an edge of recentcy while facing his next condition; Mullins colt cost $190k as a 2-YO in training sale.

Slam Slew – Tepid chalk was highly regarded before going on the shelf; been away 5-months, this may just be a prep race.

Long Shot – Sea of Pleasure

Race 8 – 1 1/16th miles (turf), Purse $44,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies, 2-year-olds

Seattle Smooth – Sneaky pick because she chased Peisinoe who won on Wednesday; Canani stretches her out, expect improvement.

Royal Humor – She lacks a late kick, unless Nakatani can convince her to take back some; shot in a very difficult race.

Long Shot – Miss Fremont

Best Bet – O Bee Naki (race 2)

Hollywood Thursday- Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 15/4/$21.00; Long Shots, 8/1/$4.80; Best Bet, 1/0/$0

Hollywood Totals – 364/83/$535.60; Long Shots, 185/27/$333.00; Best Bets, 22/8/$33.60
