Here are 2016’s All-State Girls softball teams

First Team
P Hayley Fein, Spanish Springs
The senior pitcher went 27-13 in leading the Cougars to the Division I state title. She pitched 237 ⅓ innings with a 2.01 ERA and 235 strikeouts. She also hit .278 with four homers and 26 RBIs.
P Michaela Hood, Spring Valley
The senior pitcher went 17-0 with a 0.59 ERA and 169 strikeouts in 118 ⅓ innings and helped the Grizzlies win the Division I-A state title. She also hit .505 with 17 doubles, three homers and 37 RBIs.
P Julia Jensen, Reed
The junior pitcher went 24-4 with a 1.63 ERA and 329 strikeouts and just 30 walks in 185 innings to help the Raiders to the Division I Northern Region title. She also hit .330 with 11 homers and 35 RBIs.
P Sam Pochop, Rancho
The junior pitcher went 19-4 with a 0.51 ERA and 278 strikeouts and just 18 walks in 177 ⅔ innings as the Rams advanced to the Division I state final. She also hit .387 with seven doubles and 20 RBIs.
C Kate Dennis, Shadow Ridge
The senior catcher hit .474 with four homers, 11 doubles and 47 RBIs to help the Mustangs win the Sunset Region title.
C Kourtney Townsend, Spanish Springs
The senior catcher hit .370 with three homers, 10 doubles and 37 RBIs in helping the Cougars win the Division I state title.
IF Cara Beatty, Palo Verde
The junior infielder hit .491 with seven homers, 12 doubles, 46 runs and 47 RBIs and helped the Panthers to the Sunset Region final.
IF Gianna Carosone, Rancho
The sophomore infielder hit .522 with five homers, nine triples, five doubles and 34 RBIs in helping the Rams advance to the Division I state final.
IF Corryne Diaz, Douglas
The junior infielder hit .471 with four homers, 14 doubles, 31 runs and 52 RBIs for the Tigers.
IF Alisha Schultz, Shadow Ridge
The sophomore infielder hit .561 with five homers, eight doubles, 59 runs and 41 RBIs in helping the Mustangs win the Sunset Region title.
IF Kali Tomlinson, Palo Verde
The senior infielder hit .514 with 11 homers, 14 doubles, 56 runs and 51 RBIs and helped the Panthers advance to the Sunset Region final.
OF Alysha Imperato, Reed
The senior outfielder hit .400 with four homers, 11 doubles, 31 runs and 21 RBIs in helping the Raiders secure the Division I Northern Region title.
OF Baileigh Loux, Galena
The junior outfielder hit .560 with six homers, 13 doubles, 42 runs and 31 RBIs for the Grizzlies.
OF Angel Love, Centennial
The senior outfielder hit .457 with 10 homers, 11 doubles, 48 runs and 52 RBIs for the Bulldogs.
OF Tatum Spangler, Coronado
The sophomore outfielder hit .545 with seven homers, nine triples, seven doubles, 56 runs and 36 RBIs for the Cougars.
UT Bailey McLaughlin, Bishop Manogue
The sophomore infielder/catcher hit .500 with seven homers, 12 doubles, 28 runs and 40 RBIs for the Miners.
UT Basia Query, Coronado
The senior catcher/infielder hit .573 with two homers, 13 doubles, 48 runs and 58 RBIs for the Cougars.
Second Team
P Shelbi Denman, Shadow Ridge
The sophomore pitcher went 13-2 with a 2.02 ERA and 119 strikeouts in 97 innings and helped the Mustangs win the Sunset Region title.
P Charlene Masterson, Boulder City
The senior pitcher went 20-7 with a 1.49 ERA and 193 strikeouts in 152 ⅔ innings and helped the Eagles advance to the Division I-A state final. She also hit .610 with five homers, 12 doubles, 58 runs and 55 RBIs.
P Emily Mitchell, McQueen
The senior pitcher went 11-9 with a 2.69 ERA and 189 strikeouts in 135 ⅓ innings for the Lancers.
P Kalei Watkins, Sierra Vista
The junior pitcher went 17-3 with a 0.73 ERA and 185 strikeouts in 124 innings for the Mountain Lions. She also hit .513 with nine homers, 13 doubles, 39 runs and 46 RBIs.
C Megan Coyle, Bishop Gorman
The senior catcher hit .398 with 11 doubles, 32 runs and 32 RBIs for the Gaels.
C Hailey Merlino, Bishop Manogue
The freshman catcher hit .460 with seven homers, eight doubles, 23 runs and 41 RBIs for the Miners.
IF Emma Covert, Damonte Ranch
The junior infielder hit .505 with five homers, 15 doubles, 34 runs and 39 RBIs for the Mustangs.
IF Stephanie Day, Centennial
The senior infielder hit .421 with nine doubles, 40 runs and 28 RBIs for the Bulldogs.
IF Kenzi Goins, Reed
The senior infielder hit .360 with seven homers, nine doubles, 36 runs and 31 RBIs and helped the Raiders win the Division I Northern Region title.
IF Alexis Gonzalez, Reed
The senior infielder hit .408 with three homers, 14 doubles and 20 RBIs and helped the Raiders win the Division I Northern Region title.
IF Samantha Loving, Green Valley
The senior infielder hit .500 with eight homers, 21 doubles, 41 runs and 46 RBIs for the Gators.
OF Bradianne Glover, Bishop Manogue
The freshman outfielder hit .514 with seven doubles, 26 runs and 22 RBIs for the Miners.
OF Brylynn Vallejos, Damonte Ranch
The sophomore outfielder hit .534 with five homers, 13 doubles, 22 RBIs and 44 runs for the Mustangs.
OF Alexia Young, Reno
The sophomore outfielder hit .525 with eight homers, nine doubles, 21 runs and 21 RBIs for the Huskies.
UT Breanna Alvarez, Liberty
The junior pitcher/infielder hit .546 with two homers, eight doubles, 44 RBIs and 21 runs and went 12-4 with a 2.27 ERA in 98 ⅔ innings to help the Patriots advance to the Sunrise Region final.
UT Mosie Foley, Faith Lutheran
The senior pitcher/infielder hit .431 with 11 homers, seven doubles, 35 runs and 36 RBIs and went 9-4 with a 1.91 ERA and 147 strikeouts in 113 ⅔ innings for the Crusaders.
UT Sarah Pinkston, Coronado
The senior infielder/pitcher hit .528 with eight doubles and 33 RBIs and was 2-1 with a save and a 1.03 ERA in 20 ⅓ innings for the Cougars.
Coach of the Year
Jeff Davidson, Spanish Springs
Davidson guided the Cougars to their fourth state championship and sixth state tournament appearance in the last 10 seasons.
