From basketball arena to NFR stadium

Have you ever wanted to see a basketball court turn into a rodeo stage? Well, now you can.

The time lapse video begins on the evening of Nov. 30, prior to the UNLV game, and runs through the opening night of the

Wrangler National Finals Rodeo on Dec. 5.

This is the 29th year that one of the most popular rodeos in the world has been held here in Las Vegas.

Each December, the top 15 contestants compete in bareback riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing, and bull riding, along with other events to qualify for the NFR. Top qualifiers are picked based off their Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association World Standings.

Six days, equipment, tractors and a whole lot of man power encompassed the entire set up for the transformation of the Thomas & Mack Center from a basketball arena into a stadium for the NFR.

Video includes scenes from the set up, rehearsals, and all of the activity leading up to several rodeo performances.

Prize money for the participants this year will be $6.25 million.

Total event attendance for NFR in 2012 was 175,642 people over the ten day competition.
