Week 5: Nevada Preps football Player of the Week — POLL

Editors note: each week we’ll pick five players for a Nevada Preps Player Of The Week poll. This week’s poll will end at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Here are the Nevada Preps Player of the Week nominees for Week 5 of high school football.

— Canyon Springs kicker Cesar Barron-Rodriguez came through in the clutch, with a pair of key 30-yard field goals. His field goal in overtime gave the Pioneers a 33-30 win over sixth-ranked Basic. He had tied the game at 30 with the first 30-yarder with 5:18 to play.

— Corwin Bush got things going quickly for Cheyenne, scoring on the first play from scrimmage and finishing with 147 yards on 14 carries in a 27-6 win over Western.

— Jamaal Evans of Centennial had another strong all-around performance, completing 10 of 15 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns and adding a rushing TD in a 48-6 victory over Cimarron-Memorial.

— Shadow Ridge running back Aubrey Nellems helped the Mustangs pull off the biggest upset of the night in a 28-21 win over fourth-ranked Las Vegas. Nellems rushed for 114 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries, and his TD run with 25 seconds left gave Shadow Ridge the lead.

— Arbor View running back Deago Stubbs posted an impressive overall performance against Faith Lutheran. Stubbs rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown, and caught seven passes for 152 yards and two scores in a 41-22 win.
