Five-run eighth sends Isotopes past 51s, 9-6

The Albuquerque Isotopes erupted for five runs in the eighth inning off 51s reliever Gonzalez Germen and defeated Las Vegas 9-6 on Friday night in a Pacific Coast League game in Albuquerque, N.M.
The Isotopes trailed 6-4 before rallying against Germen (3-1), who entered the game with a 0.44 ERA in 16 appearances. But he allowed a two-run homer to Clint Robinson and a three-run shot to Carlos Triunfel in blowing his first save of the season and watching his ERA jump to 2.53.
Triunfel went 3-for-4 with four RBIs for Albuquerque (61-79), and Robinson also hit a two-run homer in the sixth and had four RBIs.
Andrew Brown homered twice, giving him 21 this season, and drove in three runs for the 51s (80-62). Cesar Puello added a two-run homer.
Las Vegas starter Cory Mazzoni went six innings, allowing three runs on five hits and no walks, with 10 strikeouts. He left with a 6-3 lead.
