Ex-NBA player Allan Houston is making a documentary about fatherhood

LOS ANGELES — Ex-New York Knicks star Allan Houston is getting behind the camera for a new documentary about fatherhood. The former NBA player, who is now assistant G.M. of the Knicks, revealed the trailer for “The Legacy of My Father” at the Greenwich International Film Festival on Thursday.

Speaking at a panel dubbed “Sports Guys on Sports Movies,” which featured moderator Mike Greenberg and Yankees star Mark Texiera, Houston told the audience the film explores how to be the best father from celebrities, sports stars and regular dads including Anthony Anderson, Darryl Strawberry, Doc Rivers, Ron Howard and Common.

Howard, a Knicks fan, was also in attendance at Thursday’s event.
