Eldorado topples Chaparral in boys soccer

Nelson Garcia had a goal and an assist Thursday to help Eldorado defeat host Chaparral 3-2 in boys soccer.

Rene Ardon and Noe Mejia each added a goal for the Sundevils, and teammate Jonathan Lopez had two assists.

Albert Bravo and Ruben Lopez each had a goal for the Cowboys.

At Clark, the Chargers and Western played to a 1-1 tie.

Howard Moralas scored for Clark, and Eduardo Vizcaino tallied a goal for the Warriors.

At Desert Pines, Ernesto Corona scored two goals for the Jaguars in a 2-2 tie with Rancho.

Pierre Flores and Erik Marquez each scored one goal for the Rams.

At Overton, Josh Witter scored with about 10 minutes to play to give the Pirates a 2-1 victory over Virgin Valley.

Luis Gonzalez scored the other goal for the Pirates. Jordan Brown scored for the Bulldogs.

At Sierra Vista, goalkeepers Joe Vitale of Bishop Gorman and Andrew Fontein of Sierra Vista both registered shutouts in a 0-0 tie.

Fontein had seven saves as the Gaels outshot the Lions 12-7.

At Faith Lutheran, Wade Norman scored three goals, and Jim Sullivan and Ryan Sniezyk tallied two goals each as the Crusaders shut out The Meadows 9-0.

Chris Fildes and Chris Longi each scored one goal, and goalkeepers Marc Davies and Austin Hardee combined for the shutout.

At Canyon Springs, Las Vegas defeated the Pioneers 5-1.
