Cardinals rookies pick up Starbucks for team in full uniform — PHOTO

Apparently, the St. Louis Cardinals aren’t done taking pages straight out of another team’s playbook.

With St. Louis staffers under investigation for hacking into the Houston Astros’ database, Cardinals players on Tuesday copied a Los Angeles Dodgers’ rookie hazing ritual at Chicago’s Wrigley Field.

Before the Cardinals-Cubs doubleheader, St. Louis rookie pitchers Miguel Socolovich, Mitch Harris and Marcus Hatley walked to a Wrigleyville Starbucks in full uniform to pick up a drink order for the team.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch beat writer Derrick Goold posted a photo of the coffee run on Instagram, which you can check out below.

While it’s a fun stunt for all involved, you’d think the Cards could be a little more creative as the Dodgers did the exact same thing twice before at the same exact Starbucks — where rookie Joc Pederson picked up coffee in September and again on June 25, when he was joined in full uniform by fellow rookies Mike Bolsinger and Adam Liberatore.

It is Chicago, after all. How about having the rooks deliver some deep-dish pizza or Chicago-style hot dogs or Italian beef sandwiches. That would be a big step up from a triple venti sugar free, non fat, no foam, extra caramel, with whip caramel macchiato. Just saying.
