Today’s best bet: Tampa Bay Rays (+115) over NEW YORK YANKEES
The Yankees will start A.J. Burnett, who has been far worse than his 8-9 record. Burnett’s spot in the rotation is on the line. Rays right-hander James Shields (11-9, 2.80 ERA) has not been in his best form recently with a 4.87 ERA in his past three starts. But Shields beat the Yankees 2-1 on July 21, allowing one earned run in 7 2/3 innings, and he’s the better pitcher as an underdog.
