Race 1 – 6 1/2 furlongs (turf), $100,000 Juvenile Turf Sprint, 2-year-olds

1 Cool Comfort – I like cutbacks and this filly qualifies and has quality to boot; Wesley Ward had a huge first day of the BC.

11 Stormy Liberal – Broke his MSW down the hill and that’s a good thing; also like the parking lot post to get good position.

Long Shot – 8 War Alert

Race 2 – 7 furlongs, $200,000 Golden State Juvenile, Cal-breds, 2-year-olds

1 Acceptance – Second start off a facile, explosive debut win; anything close to repeating that race will win this race today.

2 Wake Up Nick – Unbeaten in five career starts, but destined for sprinter duty; has shown he can win without the early lead.

Long Shot – 6 Mischief Clem

Race 3 – 6 1/2 furlongs (turf), $100,000 Senator Ken Maddy, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

4 Velvet Mesquite – Has won 5-of-6 races down the hillside turf course; may not be the fastest horse, but is a course specialist.

13 Ageless – Solid turf resume, makes her debut down the hillside course; like the parking lot post for position and a late charge.

Long Shot – 6 Richies Party Girl

Race 4 – 1 1/16th miles, $2-Million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, Fillies, 2-year-olds

2 Angela Renee – Was impressed by her wire job in the Chandelier; thought she would rebound after hating the slop at Saratoga two back.

4 Conquest Eclipse – Has a strong late kick that can win with the right pace scenario; has done little wrong for trainer Mark Casse.

Long Shot – 1 Feathered

Race 5 – 1 1/4 miles (turf), $2-Million Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

2 Just The Judge – Nice Euro filly has adapted to turf on this continent just fine; like most Euro, has a strong closing kick.

5 Secret Gesture – She loses her rider to Just The Judge, but Patrick Smullen is an able sub; long winded sort will be closing fast late.

Long Shot – 6 Fiesolana

Race 6 – 7 furlongs, $1-Million Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

5 Artemis Agrotera – She is a perfect 4-for-4 wins in sprints; 7-furlongs is her best distance too, she does not need the lead to win.

1 Sweet Reason – If you follow me, you know how much I like cutback horses; she will trail early, but expect a powerful late kick.

Long Shot – 3 Stonetastic

Race 7 – 6 1/2 furlongs (turf), $1-Million Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint, 3-year-olds and up

5 Ambitious Brew – I look for horses that have excelled down the tricky hillside course; Marty Jones has pointed for this all year.

10 Home Run Kitten – Has won both of his starts down the hill; figures to sit far back early, must pass them all late to win.

Long Shot – 3 Sweet Swap

Race 8 – 1 1/16th miles, $2-Million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, 2-year-olds

9 Carpe Diem – A replay of his Breeders’ Futurity win at Keeneland was most impressive; cost $1.6 million at the sales and ran like it.

1 Calculator – Second to the scratched chalk American Pharoah in the Frontrunner; draws post 1, will save lots of ground and may improve.

Long Shot – 13 Upstart

Race 9 – 1 1/2 miles (turf), $3-Million Breeders’ Cup Turf, 3-year-olds and up

1 Telescope – Ryan Moore has many live Euro mounts; first time with Lasix, will save ground and make a patented late charge to the wire.

7 Flintshire – Would not be surprised with a Euro sweep of the tote board; facing a watered down U.S. turf division.

Long Shot – 4 Brown Panther

Race 10 – 6 furlongs, $1.5-Million Breeders’ Cup Sprint, 3-year-olds and up

8 Palace – Very consistent, will see a searing early pace to close into; not explosive, but a grinder type who always brings his A game.

6 Rich Tapestry – Won the Sprint Championship with a quarter mile run; typical foreign type who sits chilly, then comes flying late.

Long Shot – 4 Secret Circle

Race 11 – 1 mile (turf), $2-Million Breeders’ Cup Mile, 3-year-olds and up

5 Toronado – More Euro love from this corner; another key angle is many run first time with Lasix, a potential performance booster.

4 Mustajeeb – Has done little wrong with a well managed campaign; should be coming in fresh, fit and first time with Lasix too.

Long Shot – 3 Veda

Race 12 – 1 1/4 miles, $5-Million Breeders’ Cup Classic, 3-year-olds and up

8 Zivo – So much hype being given to the 3-YOs, I am predicting an upset; the older handicap horses back east were better than appeared.

11 Tonalist – With JCGC and Belmont Stakes wins, distance is not an issue; Joel Rosario saves his best for the biggest days in racing.

Long Shot – 13 California Chrome
