By Richard Eng

Post Time 1 p.m.

Race 1 – 6 furlongs, Purse $26,000, Claiming $16,000, 3-year-olds

5 Bodaway – Turf Paradise invader fits for this $16K price tag; could have a tough time filling races this meet.

3 J J Be Chillin – Jeff Mullins appears out of hibernation; has already won with 2-of-4 starts so far this meet.

Long Shot – 2 Justa Gusta

Race 2 – 4 1/2 furlongs, Purse $30,000, Maiden claiming $50,000, Fillies, 2-year-olds

2 Divine Way – FTS from Doug O’Neill where all are FTS; watch the tate board for additional clues.

6 Pleasant Miss – Adam Kitchingman is good in these baby burners too; solid gate, speed rider in Edwin Maldonado.

Long Shot – 4 Time to Be a Hero

Race 3 – 1 mile (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $54,000, Optional claiming $80,000, 3-year-olds

1 Pure Loyalty – Like it when a horse wins while running a much lower Beyer; tells me there is room for improvement.

5 Horizon Sky – More Jeff Mullins power in the early pick 5; Hollywood is his home base so these runners are right at home.

Long Shot – 3 Square Dancer

Race 4 – 4 1/2 furlongs, Purse $52,000, Maiden special weights, 2-year-olds

7 Raise the Hoof – Fast workouts, leading rider Rafael Bejarano point to an obvious pick; from the sharp Jeff Bonde barn.

5 Willie B Awesome – Walther Solis is a strong barn in these baby drag races; shows many fast drills for debut.

Long Shot – 2 Alpine Luck

Race 5 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $36,000, Claiming $32,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

6 Granny Calling – Claimed off a sharp win by Goncalino Almeida; looking for his first trainer win, this could be the one.

4 So She Dances – Rafael Bejarano remsins loyal to the cause despite a poor run in last; leap of faith behind the chalk.

Long Shot – 8 Ghost N Your Heart

Race 6 – 6 furlongs (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $54,000, Allowance, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up

7 Johnny Be Mine – Last two races are both fast enough to beat these; tactical speed to lead or follow close up.

5 Awesome Indy – Been away 2-years, but showed a lot of talent back when; key question is if he is tight enough.

Long Shot – 3 Night Badger

Race 7 – 1 1/16th miles, Purse $57,000, Optional claiming $62,500, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

3 Esentepe – Gets class relief from the Wilshire for this; overdue for first U.S. tally, new pilot in Rafael Bejarano.

4 Unkept Rendez Vous – Dead late closer has been too little, too late in all U.S. starts; big rider switch to Garrett Gomez.

Long Shot – 1 Miss Radiance

Race 8 – 1 mile (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $52,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

4 Dow Diva – Has twice had the lead late in turf routes, before giving it up; this field looks a bit slower than those.

8 Krazypapaya – Happy that nemesis Top Kisser has graduated; by Unusual Heat, a very good turf stallion in California.

Long Shot – 9 Sidepocket Run

Best Bet – 3 Esentepe (race 7)
