November 6, 2014 - 8:49 pm
Post Time 12:30 p.m.
Race 1 – 1 mile, Purse $19,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
5 Wild Caroline – Sliding down the maiden claiming ladder to this career low class; figures to sit a trip and come rally wide.
1 She’s Discreet – Her best career race came in debut at Del Mar over this synthetic surface; will save every inch of ground tonight.
Long Shot – 2 Diamond Flush
Race 2 – 1 1/16th miles (turf, rail at 12 feet), Purse $58,000, Optional claiming $20,000, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up
5 Lucky J Lane – After a poor debut on synthetics, his next 3 races on grass are all very good; gets reunited with Corey Nakatani.
7 Benba – Has not run since a terrific second over Del Mar grass this summer; A.C. Avila barn heated up with Tiago Pereira riding.
Long Shot – 2 Unusually Green
Race 3 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $21,000, Claiming $16,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
2 Midnight Lady – Has a strong resume over the Del Mar synthetics; this will be the final meet for synthetics in Southern California.
3 Adriatic Skye – Floundered in her last two starts over dirt; her last race over synthetics was a win at Del Mar this summer.
Long Shot – 1 Clearly Anointed
Race 4 – 6 furlongs, Purse $21,000, Claiming $12,500, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
1 Oscillator – Gutty win last out at Santa Anita; has a strong 5-of-6 in the money resume over synthetics, most of it came at Del Mar.
3 Marla Hooch – The team of Kent Desormeaux and Bob Hess gets reunited; they were tearing things up this summer at Del Mar.
Long Shot – 4 Eltoninadress
Race 5 – 1 mile (turf, rail at 12 feet), Purse $56,000, Maiden special weights, 2-year-olds
1 Battle of Evermore – Debut turf race was a good second down the hill in Arcadia; stretching out around 2-turns for the first time.
7 Smuggler Union – Tries turf and with Lasix both for the first time; like the switch to Rafael Bejarano who seldom rides for this barn.
Long Shot – 9 Bolo
Race 6 – 1 mile, Purse $19,000, Claiming $16,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
4 Adellusion – Nibbler tendency on synthetics, four seconds from 7 tries; key here is the steep class drop by trainer Richard Baltas.
3 Up the Alley – Broke her maiden over Del Mar synthetics two races ago; draw a line thru last and her resume looks better.
Long Shot – 7 Smooth Talker
Race 7 – 1 1/16th miles, Purse $58,000, Optional claiming $40,000, 3-year-olds and up
1 Got Even – Looks like lone early speed, the best bet in horse racing; drew the rail so his tactics will be very simple.
4 Ashleyluvssugar – Excellent resume over the Del Mar synthetics; last race was further back than they may have wanted.
Long Shot – 3 Toowindytohaulrox
Race 8 – 1 mile (turf, rail at 12 feet), $75,000 Kathryn Crosby, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
10 Kitten’s Point – Lots of respect for this eastern shipper for Graham Motion; his work is exemplified in Main Sequence.
5 Kathleen Rose – If speed is holding on the grass today, she’ll be the one to do it; aided by the turf rail out 12 feet.
Long Shot – 8 Wishing Gate
Race 9 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $56,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, Fillies, 2-year-olds
8 Heat the Rocks – Figures to be the shortest priced favorite on the card; did everything but win last time out.
9 Stipend – Lost all chance at the start; wasn’t bothered the way Shared Belief was, the trouble was self inflicted.
Long Shot – 3 Silver Starlight
Best Bet – 1 Got Even (race 7)
Santa Anita Sunday – Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 20/5/$36.20; Long Shots, 10/2/$14.60; Best Bet, 1/0/$0
