1 Shem – Flattered when Mr. Bossy Pants won next out; sliding down the claiming ladder, does have decent dirt resume.
3 Bench the Judge – Tepid chalk in an open affair; another sliding down the claiming ladder to a career low class.
Long Shot – 4 Maker
Race 2 – 6 furlongs, Purse $58,000, Allowance, Cal-breds, Fillies, 3-year-olds
2 Almost a Lady – Threw in a clunker facing much tougher in a Cal-bred stakes; this is an easier, confidence building race.
5 Caribaya Queen – Broke her MSW smartly at Woodbine; Steve Asmussen stock figures to hold its own this meeting.
Long Shot – 4 Vicki Victoria
Race 3 – 6 furlongs, Purse $23,000, Claiming $16,000, Fillies, 3-year-olds
6 Maryjean – Huge class drop affords a big shot today; like the class drop, these are clearly her friends in here.
2 I Sense Your Luck – Sliding down the claiming ladder to this career low class; should have no problem competing with these.
Long Shot – 4 Purple Starduster
Race 4 – 1 1/16th miles, Purse $30,000, Starter allowance $40,000, 4-year-olds and up
4 Ultimate Decision – Won as easily as a horse could in last; facing winners for the first time, it can be a major hurdle.
2 El Tango Ray – Good effort in last and appears capable of better; we’ll see if grass becomes his preferred surface.
Long Shot – 3 Clearance Clarence
Race 5 – 1 mile (turf, rail at 30 feet), Purse $56,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
3 Clean Break – The hardest race on the card is in a key spot on the card; none of these have any turf form to speak of.
4 The Grans – Her grass race two back is reason enough to think she could upset; second time blinkers on could show improvement.
Long Shot – 1 Vonn Nez

1 Russian River – In a race this nondescript, sometimes you handicap the trainers; Mike Mitchell charge would be no surprise.
9 Subpoena the Dress – Claimed by Linda Mikus off a win for Bob Hess; key vote comes from Rafael Bejarano remaining loyal.
Long Shot – 7 Victory With Class
Race 7 – 1 mile (turf, rail at 30 feet), Purse $58,000, Optional claiming $25,000, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
6 Sunburn – Traded punches last time out with Meltarib; this field is evenly matched so the verdict goes to the best trip horse.
7 Meltarib – Has cashed a lot of paychecks ont he grass; runs best when settles early and fires in the deep stretch.
Long Shot – 4 Ruffled Feathers
Race 8 – 6 furlongs, Purse $27,000, Maiden claiming $40,000, 4-year-olds and up
5 Bull Ring – Small edge in another difficult heat; lost a nose in debut and was 4-lengths clear of the third place horse.
4 Baron Von Red – John Sadler adding blinkers on and reuniting with Joel Rosario; capable of solid improvement to upset.
