4 R Vicarious Girl – Mike Mitchell mare sliding down the claiming ladder; exits turf, her dirt form is pretty good.
5 Tripped the Light – Claimed from Bob Hess by Linda Mikus; like that Joel Rosario remains loyal to the cause.
Long Shot – 6 Katy’s Kitty
Race 2 – 1 mile (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $35,000, Claiming $32,000, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
1 Van Brit – Clearly loves Santa Anita turf, 7-of-11 wins in Arcadia; should save all the ground for underrated Brice Blanc.
5 Bella Swan – Mike Mitchell can win the daily double, or just part of it; sliding down the claiming ladder to face easier.
Long Shot – 2 Lunch Time Diva
Race 3 – 6 furlongs, Purse $26,000, Claiming $20,000, 4-year-olds
3 Quintons Destiny – Janet Armstrong claimed from Mike Mitchell; hard to improve on that, but suspect one more good race is likely.
7 Speed Bias – Don’t let the Turf Paradise resume hinder your opinion; takes a steep class drop to face much easier.
Long Shot – 8 Floating Feather
Race 4 – 6 1/2 furlongs (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $56,000, Maiden special weights, 3-year-olds
4 Our Merv – Green debut in U.S.; slow early, but fast late, Mike Mitchell adding blinkers on, expect improvement.
2 Only the Gold – Tries turf for the first time for Richard Mandella; has faced good ones in his defeat.
Long Shot – 7 Koast
Race 5 – 1 1/16th miles, Purse $60,000, Optional claiming $62,500, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
3 Miss Radiance – Nearly perfect over Santa Anita dirt; has enough tactical speed to sit a good trip throughout.
6 Arte Viva – Ran like a short horse off a year long hiatus; should be a lot tighter in her second start of the year.
Long Shot – 1 Star Presence
Race 6 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $27,000, Maiden claiming $40,000, Cal-breds, Fillies, 3-year-olds
2 Ralphy Girl – Showed good speed in both of her starts; speed has done well this meet, which can imitate the 405 freeway.
7 Vegas Rules – Exits a bullet workout off a decent debut race; big chance for a photo if she improves one step.
Long Shot – 5 Raggin Wood
Race 7 – 7 furlongs, $150,000 San Vicente, 3-year-olds
2 Creative Cause – This is the kind of field he is supposed to eat for lunch; step one on the road to Churchill Downs.
5 American Act – Terrific MSW win over Bodemeister from Bob Baffert barn; this is a big test for class on the rise.
Long Shot – 3 Drill
Race 8 – 6 1/2 furlongs (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $30,000, Starter allowance $40,000, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
4 Blue Samurai – Logical chalk has has a hole the size of a donut; is 0-for-13 on turf despite 8 in the money finishes.
8 Platinum Mine – Jeff Mullins barn is heating up so don’t overlook this mare; bugboy Eswan Flores is riding very well.
Long Shot – 2 One Fast Frog
Race 9 – 6 furlongs, Purse $23,000, Maiden claiming $30,000, Fillies, 3-year-olds
11 Anna You’re Up – Mike Mitchell filly took action and ran evenly in debut; he’s adding blinkers on for start two.
6 Ricspretentiousgal – Ran a sneaky good debut race from parking lot post 11; would not surprise with improvement tonight.
