Post Time 2 p.m.
Race 1 – 6 furlongs, Purse $63,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
3 Blazing Along – Bob Baffert throws a bone to exercise rider Luis Medina; has speed to be forwardly placed.
5 Include Me Out – If she runs in the daytime as well as her a.m. drills, look out; watch tote for clues.
Long Shot – 2 Honey’s Prize
Race 2 – 6 furlongs, Purse $37,000, Starter allowance $40,000, 2-year-olds
3 Hot Ride – Has run 2 good races, improving in second start; has talent and figures to keep improving.
2 Inquisitive Son – Reunited with Edwin Maldonado; figures to be ridden more aggressively tonight.
Long Shot – 4 Nicos Memory
Race 3 – 1 1/16th miles (turf, rail at 7 feet), Purse $70,000, Optional claiming $62,500, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
2 Miss Mittagong – Huge rally in last was a stride short; like that Rafael Bejarano remains loyal.
4 Talktoomuch – Logical chalk ran a cropper in last; returns to grass, which should spruce up her performance.
Long Shot – 1 Berg Bahn
Race 4 – 1 mile, Purse $24,000, Claiming $16,000, 3-year-olds and up
7 The Hunt Is On – Dead-late closer was left with way too much to do in last; was 20 lengths behind early on.
3 Bell Blitz – Sliding down the claiming ladder to this career-low class; may be lone early speed too.
Long Shot – 1 Exuma
Race 5 – 7 furlongs, Purse $37,000, Starter allowance $40,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
3 So Tempted – Has run two sharp races here at Del Mar; helps when the horse loves the track surface.
7 Miss Resplendere – Second start after a 2-month hiatus; dead-late closer has a powerful late kick.
Long Shot – 6 Sentimental Ballad
Race 6 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $63,000, Maiden special weights, 2-year-olds
2 Sweet Swap – Fast-working FTS from the John Sadler barn; is a full brother to grade 1 winner Sidney’s Candy.
7 Castaway – Named for the Tom Hanks movie or the old Las Vegas casino; just kidding, another Bob Baffert bullet.
Long Shot – 1 Blacky the Bull
Race 7 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $65,000, Optional claiming $40,000, 3-year-olds and up
4 Via Verde – Tiny edge in maybe the hardest race on the card; claimed by Mike Pender and aggressively spotted.
3 Valkyrie Missile – Just missed in last with a furious late rally; has speed to sit closer to the early pace.
Long Shot – 7 Maybe Yes
Race 8 – 1 1/8th miles (turf, rail at 7 feet), $250,000 Del Mar Oaks, Fillies, 3-year-olds
7 Cambina – She gets no respect despite running hard every time; she will see a fast early pace to chase.
3 Summer Soiree – Is she as good as the hype?; figures to be lone early speed and grossly overbet too.
Long Shot – 4 Bizzy Caroline
Race 9 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $24,000, Claiming $10,000, 3-year-olds and up
5 Cafe Con Leche – Is claim proof so this is his selected return race; Doug O’Neill doesn’t make many mistakes.
2 Rummysecret War – Claimed by Mike Mitchell and figures to improve; has speed to lead or follow close up.
Long Shot – 7 Conclave
Race 10 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $24,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
1 Miss Mystic – If So Tempted wins today, move this one’s stock way up; might be good enough regardless.
10 Warren’s Lady – Cashed a paycheck in last first time for a price tag; these are his friends to beat up.
Long Shot – 7 Benecia
Best Bet – 3 Hot Ride (race 2)
