Race 1 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $29,000, Claiming $25,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
2 March Mary – Claimed by Mike Mitchell and spotted nicely to win; he became the winningest trainer in Del Mar history.
5 Magic Mama – Like betting horses that lost jockey in last; claimed by Gary Sherluck, note Rafael Bejarano returns.
Long Shot – 6 The Great Atlantic
Race 2 – 1 1/16th miles (turf), Purse $65,000, Optional claiming $80,000, 3-year-olds and up
8 Extensive – Chased the good colt Mr. Commons in the Oceanside; won’t find that caliber horse in this field.
6 Cat Talk – Speedball tactics are always dangerous over Del Mar grass; tight turns over this egg-shaped oval.
Long Shot – 1 Safe Range
Race 3 – 6 furlongs, Purse $31,000, Maiden claiming $40,000, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up
1 Valen – Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; not much to beat in this field.
6 Thunder’s Heat – Good speed tactics in last to cash a paycheck; can win if he improves one step.
Long Shot – 7 Indian Gaming
Race 4 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $27,000, Claiming $12,500, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
7 Subpoena the Dress – Mike Mitchell puts her at the class she last won at; these are definitely her friends.
9 Indiara – Racing for the lowest class of her career; like the parking lot post in this elongated sprint.
Long Shot – 1 Cato Major
Race 5 – 1 mile (turf), Purse $63,000, Maiden special weights, 3-year-olds and up
9 Guest Star – Been well-bet in all starts without winning; he has ability but keeps ending up a stride late.
1 Whipstock – Sprinter stretching out figures to attend the early pace; exits a strong MSW, may outrun this rating.
Long Shot – 4 Tiz Gianni
Race 6 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $63,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies, 2-year-olds
7 Love My Way – Solid debut try when outran her 11/1 odds; exits a bullet workout and keeps rider Garrett Gomez.
2 Eileen’s Dream – Been working well for John Sadler; he hires the main man Rafael Bejarano, popular tandem.
Long Shot – 11 Muse of Fire
Race 7 – 1 1/16th miles (turf), Purse $65,000, Optional claiming $25,000, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up
8 Tribal Desert – Big rider switch to P Val; Chantal Sutherland is serving a suspension, but was OK to ride the match race.
10 Gab Power – Burned a lot of money losing 3 in a row as the chalk; still he runs fast enough to beat all of these.
Long Shot – 1 Minister d’Oro
Race 8 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $65,000, Optional claiming $40,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
10 Glamorista – Facing winners for the first time is actually the biggest class rise in racing; looked super in debut.
4 Pink Leninade – Like the turn back in distance for this elongated sprint; won her debut in a quick sprint.
Long Shot – 2 Evita’s Sister
Race 9 – 1 1/8th miles (turf), $250,000 John C. Mabee, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
1 Harmonious – Ran like a horse in need of a race last time; she is BC worthy, this is an important step forward.
3 Wasted Tears – Speedball folded badly in the Modesty at AP; won the Mabee last year in an incredibly game effort.
Long Shot – 2 Cozie Rosie
Race 10 – 6 furlongs, Purse $24,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, 3-year-olds and up
8 Spurr Road – Bob Baffert cull may still be good enough on the class drop; need not be much to graduate in here.
3 Del Mar Dude – Improved a ton last time off a 9-month hiatus; suspect you won’t get 11/1 odds tonight.
Long Shot – 11 You Little Devil
Best Bet – 1 Harmonious (race 9)
