TODAY AT SANTA ANITA PARK

Post Time 12:30 p.m.
Race 1 – 7 furlongs, Purse $20,000, Claiming $12,500, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
4 She’s Very Rare – Claimed by Mike Mitchell, typically a good thing; dead-late closer can improve a step or two.
2 Cato Major – Two honest seconds off the claim by Jack Carava 3 races ago; no doubt these are her friends tonight.
Long Shot – 6 Zippin E
Race 2 – 6 furlongs, Purse $54,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies, 3-year-olds
4 Dazzling Display – Bob Baffert has a powerful uncoupled entry in here; this gal showed lots of ability in her debut.
1 Sea Song’s Grace – Other half of the Baffert entry; FTS gets Joel Rosario, enough of a vote to strongly consider.
Long Shot – 3 Jaredella
Race 3 – 1 mile (turf, rail at 8 feet), Purse $56,000, Allowance, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up
2 Burns – Big rider switch to Garrett Gomez for the money shot; figures to sit a trip and come grinding late.
3 Dontmesroundwitjim – Tepid chalk appears to be the speed of the race; ran well in last off the claim by Doug O’Neill.
Long Shot – 1 Absolutlypositvly
Race 4 – 6 1/2 furlongs, $100,000 Las Flores, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
3 Mother Ruth – She is reunited with Martin Garcia, a winning move; mare is a perfect 3-for-3 wins at today’s distance.
5 Gilded Gem – The top two are arch-nemesis rivals; Joel Rosario will sit in arrears and save up for one brush.
Long Shot – 1 Broken Dreams
Race 5 – 1 mile (turf, rail at 8 feet), Purse $54,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up
6 Cantona – Paddy Gallagher has an uncoupled entry; this is the longer odds price, must overlook a putrid 0-for-7 turf resume.
9 Visual Intensity – Weak chalk in a wide-open affair; showed enough early speed last time to be a factor.
Long Shot – 10 Cat Talk
Race 6 – 6 furlongs, Purse $20,000, Claiming $12,500, 4-year-olds
1 Toro Trippi – Had a trouble trip in last off the claim by Rafael Becerra; his race two back would crush these.
7 Flashy Green – Claimed by Bobby Troeger and spotted nicely to win; has plenty of back class to handle this group.
Long Shot – 5 Joyful Success
Race 7 – 6 1/2 furlongs (turf, rail at 8 feet), Purse $30,000, Claiming $25,000, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
4 Bella Roja – Dead-late closer sliding down the claiming ladder to this career low; been knocking on the door with P Val.
8 Higher Incentive – Garrett Gomez for Corey Nakatani who opted for Entabeni; this mare has a puncher’s chance too.
Long Shot – 7 Entabeni
Race 8 – 1 1/16th miles, Purse $16,000, Claiming $12,500, 4-year-olds and up
3 Hiatus – His resume towers over this motley crew; third start off a 13-month sabbatical should be his best.
4 Zulu King – Had trouble in last which could account for the poor finish; has faced much better than these before.
Long Shot – 2 Anga
Race 9 – 6 1/2 furlongs (turf, rail at 8 feet), Purse $56,000, Allowance, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
3 Good Vibrations – Is maturing as a nice turf sprint closer; Joel Rosario has a way of timing the move just right.
6 Separate Forest – Clearly the one to catch with her high cheese; P Val won’t leave anything to chance.
Long Shot – 8 Picture Perfect
Race 10 – 5 furlongs, Purse $23,000, Maiden claiming $30,000, 3-year-olds
7 Me Salty – Taking the blinkers off for this; is sliding down the maiden claiming ladder to a career-low class.
2 Cabo San Lucas – Among many weak favorites on the card tonight; he’ll be the target, but clearly worth trying to beat.
Long Shot – 4 Dancing Yodeler
Best Bet – 3 Hiatus (race 8)
Santa Anita Park Friday – Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 16/4/$19.40; Long Shots, 5/2/$26.80; Best Bet, 1/1/$3.80
