Bettors banking on Chiefs to cover against Redskins

The Chiefs are the NFL’s only unbeaten team at 3-0, and bettors are banking on them to improve to 4-0 and win by more than a touchdown Monday night against the Redskins at Arrowhead Stadium.

Kansas City is a 7-point favorite at every Las Vegas sports book, and the total is 48.

“We’re clearly Redskins fans tonight,” Sunset Station sports book director Chuck Esposito said. “Any carryover is going to Kansas City, being the last unbeaten team in the league and on national television. Kansas City looks like the team to beat right now.”

The Chiefs are 3-0 against the spread after dispatching the Patriots, Eagles and Chargers. They have won 11 of their past 16 games at home but went 5-11 against the spread.

Washington is 2-1 straight up and ATS after a 27-10 win over the Oakland Raiders. The Redskins also dealt the Los Angeles Rams their only loss. Kirk Cousins threw for 365 yards and three TDs against the Raiders, and Washington’s defense held Oakland to 128 total yards.

The Redskins are 7-2 ATS in their past nine as an underdog. The over is 11-3 in Washington’s past 14 games as an underdog, but the under is 11-3 in Kansas City’s past 14 games as a favorite.
