Three solo homers power River Cats past 51s

When the 51s began their series Tuesday at Sacramento, River Cats right fielder Mac Williamson was playing for the San Francisco Giants.
On Friday, they probably wished he still was with the major league club.
Williamson hit two solo home runs in the River Cats’ 3-1 Pacific Coast League victory over Las Vegas at Raley Field in Sacramento, California.
51s starter Sean Gilmartin gave up two runs in six innings while striking out eight. Both came on home runs in the sixth — one to Williamson and one to Mitch Delfino — that gave the River Cats a 2-1 lead.
The 51s took a 1-0 lead in the top half of the inning when Dilson Herrera drove in Ty Kelly with a single.
But Williamson tied the score, and Delfino gave Sacramento (5-11) a 2-1 lead. Williamson then homered in the eighth off Paul Sewald.
Las Vegas won the second game of the series 9-3, but scored just one run each in the other three games.
The 51s (6-8) will return to Cashman Field tonight to face Albuquerque after going 3-5 on their first road trip.
