Syndergaard pitches 51s past Tacoma, 4-0

Noah Syndergaard allowed four hits in 6 1/3 innings as the 51s defeated the Tacoma Rainiers 4-0 on Tuesday in the first game of a Pacific Coast League doubleheader in Tacoma, Wash.
The 51s (59-46) dropped the second game 4-3 as Jesus Montero drove in three runs for the Rainiers (50-53).
Syndergaard (8-5) struck out five and walked three.
Matt den Dekker, who finished 3-for-4, led off the opener with a home run, and Josh Satin added a two-run shot in the first inning.
Wilmer Flores went 0-for-4 for Las Vegas, snapping a 22-game hitting streak.
Humberto Quintero had two of the four hits for the Rainiers in the opener.
