Albuquerque erupts for 10-2 PCL victory over 51s

Roger Bernadina had two home runs and four RBIs to back a strong start from John Lannan and lead the Albuquerque Isotopes to a 10-2 win over the 51s in a Pacific Coast League game Saturday night at Cashman Field.

Lannan (4-3), a 30-year-old eight-year major league veteran, held Las Vegas (46-37) to two runs, one earned, on six hits and no walks and struck out two in six innings.

The left-hander, who made eight appearances for the 51s last season, threw 68 of his 97 pitches for strikes.

Dustin Garneau had a two-run homer and two doubles for Albuquerque (37-46), which had a 17-7 edge in hits.

Rafael Ynoa went 3-for-5 with a triple and scored twice, Cristhian Adames went 3-for-4 with two RBI singles, and Kyle Parker had two doubles and scored twice for the Isotopes.

Luis Cessa (0-1), making his first start for Las Vegas after being promoted from Double-A Binghamton, gave up seven runs on 11 hits and no walks and struck out four in 4 2/3 innings.

The 51s scored both of their runs in the fourth, on Anthony Recker’s leadoff home run and a bases-loaded fielder’s choice by Cessa.

Danny Muno, who had two singles, was the only Las Vegas player with multiple hits.
