51s’ T.J. Rivera again named Player of the Week

For the second time this season, T.J. Rivera has been named the Pacific Coast League’s Player of the Week, Minor League Baseball announced Tuesday.
From Aug. 1-7, Rivera hit .517 (15-for-29) with six doubles, two home runs and 11 RBIs. Rivera currently owns an eight-game hitting streak in which he he has multiple hits in five games.
Against El Paso last week, he delivered a game-tying single in the eighth inning. One day later, he provided all of the team’s offense against the Chihuahuas in a 3-2 win with a three-run home run. And a few days later against Fresno, he drove in five runs in a victory.
Rivera leads the Pacific Coast League with a .347 batting average. His 128 hits are fourth in the league and his 80 RBIs are third.
