51s defeat Chihuahuas for fifth straight victory

The 51s picked up their fifth straight Pacific Coast League win with a 10-2 victory at El Paso on Friday night.

Noah Syndergaard (5-2) allowed two runs, both in the first inning, and six hits in five innings. The bullpen allowed just three runners in the final four innings.

Josh Satin went 4-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs for Las Vegas (30-11). Andrew Brown hit a three-run homer in the ninth inning to blow the game open.

Matt den Dekker had three hits and scored three runs for the 51s. After den Dekker homered to lead off the game, El Paso seized the lead with two runs in the bottom of the first. Las Vegas outscored the Chihuahuas (18-23) the rest of the way 9-0.

The series continues with the third of a four-game set at 6:05 p.m. today.
