There are millions of golf fans across the world who have dreamed of upstaging Tiger Woods — so how did an 11-year-old boy manage to outshine the 14-time major winner?
That’s the question Woods was left asking after Taylor Crozier, a local school boy, hit an astonishing 81-yard hole in one at a new golf course co-designed by the former World No.1
Crozier’s achieved the stunning feat on the par three first hole at The Playgrounds at Bluejack National in Montgomery, Texas.
Woods took to Twitter to register his amazement and give Crozier his five minutes of fame.
Woods, who is currently recovering from back surgery, took to the internet last week to post a video of him swinging a golf club in a bid to play down speculation that he was struggling with his rehabilitation.
The world No. 446 first underwent lower back surgery in March 2014, before undergoing subsequent operations in September and a follow-up in October of last year.
He hopes to return to action in the near future but is remaining cautious.
“All those are unknowns,” he told reporters.
“The only thing I do know is that I am progressing, I am getting better, I am getting stronger. I just have to take it day by day.
“From where I was (health-wise) in December, it has changed dramatically. I just need to keep that momentum going. Eventually it’s getting (back) to the elite level and competing out here with the guys. That’s going to take some work.”
