LETTERS: Reid’s exit won’t lead to much change

To the editor:

Republicans might see a ray of sunshine in Sen. Harry Reid’s decision not to seek re-election in 2016. But his resignation will probably cause the powerbrokers behind the scenes to run Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval for the open Senate seat. Mr. Sandoval is our tax-and-tax, spend-and-spend Republican governor.

Moreover, it would not surprise me if Gov. Sandoval would also support the eventual economic merger with Mexico and Canada that the powerbrokers have been plotting for many years with successive North American Leaders Summits. This should make the governor eminently eligible for the senatorial seat, in the eyes of the powerbrokers.

There is no ray of sunshine for sophisticated observers who know about the powerbrokers. Only uninformed folks think that there is a positive side to Sen. Reid’s decision, because they still don’t recognize the existence of the powerbrokers and probably never will. They never see that the more things change, the more they stay the same.
