Carson City follies

Gov. Brian Sandoval stepped up Monday and vetoed the school funding bill passed by Democrats in an effort to force massively higher taxes.
The measure included about $700 million more in spending than the governor has proposed in his budget.
“Were this bill to be enacted into law, insufficient revenue would be available for the Legislature to meets its obligation to prepare a balanced budget encompassing all areas of state responsibility,” Gov. Sandoval, a Republican, noted.
In sending the K-12 plan to the governor, legislative Democrats failed to identify how they intended to pay for it.
But why would that be a surprise? This is the same leadership that’s had two years to come up with a revenue plan, but waited until less than a month remained in the session to unveil their cornucopia of new taxes, ensuring little time for serious review.
Can you say “amateur hour”?
