DANGEROUS DISGUISES

To the editor:

The poison of choice for the generations since WWII is not dope.

It is the conversion from the harsh and specific definitions of “communism” and “Marxism” to the politically correct labels of “leftism,” “liberalism” and/or “socially progressive.” That is, to camouflage our accelerating loss of freedom and the practice of systemic government thievery through modern doublespeak — the current communication of choice fed to a successfully dumbed-down population.

Consider the ideology of Democratic presidential candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, being purely Marxist in nature (if measured against the goals of “The Communist Manifesto”), but today described in every oblique and positive term possible, excepting that of its true nature: raw communism.

Their cause: Prevent individuality and non-reliance on the state; to discourage and punish individual choice of every sort; and especially to punish economic success through abusive regulation and taxation. They wish to fight tooth and nail to keep those at the bottom where they are, and to allow no one to rise above a state-determined mean — and to penalize those who do.

That isn’t theoretical prose. Sens. Obama and Clinton promise it.

Sen. Obama, the feel-good communist, and Sen. Clinton, the feel-bad communist: two wannabe keepers of a new American/Soviet-style archipelago, with both candidates dedicated to domestic Marxism and a foreign policy of appeasement, weakness and, in the face of attack, to negotiate and surrender in the best possible imitation of Neville Chamberlain’s collapse to Adolf Hitler’s demands in 1938, and do so even more swiftly than Nevada Sen. Harry Reid can declare our wars against terrorism lost. That’s pretty quick.

So what alternative do we have in November? A Republican socialist with a lifetime record of votes claimed to be 82 percent conservative, but who nevertheless legislates in liaison with Democrats for amnesty for illegal immigration; against energy independence through drilling for the trillions of barrels of oil awaiting us in ANWR and off the continental shelf; against freedom of speech; against pouring water down a mass killing terrorist’s nose for 30 seconds; and against Nevada’s sports betting.

Some choice.

If Gov. Newsom wants to facilitate reconstruction, he might also request technical help from those running states and municipalities who actually know how to encourage development rather than relying on those expert in killing it.
