Spring Mountain Ranch State Park’s future rests in hands of the public
July 10, 2007 - 9:00 pm
The future of Spring Mountain Ranch State Park in Red Rock Canyon is to be guided by public comments that officials receive at a meeting this month in Las Vegas.
Citing a 20-year-old master plan, the Nevada Division of State Parks will conduct a meeting July 25 to revisit the plan in light of increased population in the Las Vegas Valley.
The meeting will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the division’s offices, 4747 W. Vegas Drive.
Before it became a park, the 600-acre ranch had a colorful string of owners including Chester “Chet” Lauck of the radio comedy team Lum and Abner, German actress Vera Krupp and billionaire Howard Hughes.
