reviewjournal.com finalist in EPPY Awards

Reviewjournal.com, the website for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, has been named a finalist for two 2014 Editor & Publisher EPPY Awards.

The site was nominated in the Best Daily Newspaper Website category for sites with more than 1 million unique monthly visitors. Other nominees included the Boston Globe, the Wall Street Journal and Newsday.

Reviewjournal.com was also nominated in the Social Media/Crowd Sourcing category for its use of At the Scene to encourage readers to participate in the newsgathering process.

Readers can submit photos and video of newsworthy events by using the At the Scene function on the RJ app or emailing atthescene@reviewjournal.com.

Other nominees in the category included NBCUniversal, ESPN and CNN.

The EPPYs honor the best media-affiliated websites internationally. Winners will be announced Oct. 29.

Reviewjournal.com and the Las Vegas Review-Journal are owned by Stephens Media, which publishes 10 daily newspapers, about 60 weekly newspapers and more than 100 websites operating in seven states
