Nevada Rep. Susie Lee announces divorce

Updated May 28, 2021 - 5:26 pm

Rep. Susie Lee, the Democrat representing southern Nevada’s 3rd District, announced her separation from her husband, Full House Resorts CEO Dan Lee, in a statement Friday.

“In a difficult but mutual decision, my husband, Dan, and I have decided to end our marriage,” Lee’s statement read. “While this is a tough time for our family, we are fully committed to continuing to co-parent our two smart, compassionate and conscientious children. Dan and I have raised them together for the past 21 years and we have the utmost respect for one another.”

During the 2020 campaign, Republican challenger Dan Rodimer accused Lee of pushing through a bill that extended Paycheck Protection Program loans to gaming companies on behalf of her husband, whose company reportedly collected some $5.6 million through the program.

Lee dismissed the claims as partisan attacks, noting she joined the entire state’s delegation in calling for those changes, which helped more than 40,000 businesses and 500,000 workers in Nevada.

She defeated Rodimer in November to maintain control of the state’s most competitive swing district. The 3rd wraps around the California and Arizona borders and includes Henderson, Boulder City and parts of Las Vegas.

Lee is seeking re-election in 2022. She was first elected in 2018.
