Bob Thomas, former Nevada assemblyman, dies at 87

CARSON CITY — Funeral services are scheduled Monday in Virginia City for Bob Thomas, a former Nevada assemblyman and newspaper columnist.

Thomas died Saturday 0. He was 87.

Thomas wrote his last column in the Nevada Appeal about week before he died. On Thursday the newspaper ran an obituary Thomas had penned of before his death. In it he recounts his life and says farewell to his family and friends.

A former businessman, he served on the Carson City School Board. He also served in the 1983 Legislature as a Republican assemblyman from Carson City.

The funeral will be at St. Mary’s in the Mountain.
