Four people have applied for two vacancies in the Nevada Assembly, just one day after the Clark County Commission announced it was taking applications.
Those selected will represent Assembly Districts 1 and 5 in Las Vegas at the special session of the state Legislature that Gov. Brian Sandoval has called no earlier than Oct. 7 and no later than Oct. 13.
Under the Nevada Constitution, county commissioners appoint members to the Legislature when a vacancy occurs between elections and a session is convened. Appointments must be of the same political party as the last person in the seat and be registered in the Assembly district.

Louis DeSalvio, 45: Training director and political liaison for Laborers Local 872; Clark County clerk candidate 2015; and candidate for Assembly District 13, 2010 and 2012.
Assembly District 5 (Republican)
