City Council OKs $11.6M for improvements to Las Vegas neighborhood

The Las Vegas City Council on Wednesday OK’d issuing $11.6 million in local improvement bonds to pay for public improvements in the Skye Canyon master plan development in northwest Las Vegas.

The council also voted to form a special improvement district to issue the bonds and levy special assessments within Skye Canyon that can pay for improvements like sewer, street, drainage and water projects.

The 1,700-acre community is located at the outer stretches of the city, along U.S. 95 near Sky Canyon Park Drive.
